Week 11 – Alienation


Given more time this test shot could be a lot better but I've got the fundamentals done, something that can be developed further. For one thing, the shot is too fast and the slowing down is too much, I would also like to animate the kids in the window more, though I think how the shadow works off the light and environment works well. I also did drawings of the children to go in the shot.

Term 2 Week 11

Heroes wanted Process of the background i have been doing for the last 3 weeks, it's taken a lot longer than i anticipated, as there is a lot of detail! finished background. Horseplay Inspirational mood boards, researching the style and look i want to have for the setting and people. I found my self being particularly inspired by the new yorker front covers, as i like the quirkiness and style of the caricatures and the visual story telling. I found my self looking at lots of children story book artists, i found i enjoyed the ones with patterns, and minimal line art. Week 3 – The Paranoid Goat Sketches & Mood Board

We had a writing workshop where my group was given cards to create a story from.  This was the first story idea I wrote: Synopsis: A young girl befriends a troubled old magician and helps him work through his depression through the power of their friendship. One year, a magician named Desmond visits a town where a young girl named Skye lives. Skye has been looking forward to the upcoming fayre for months, and seeing Desmond practicing his magic tricks at the local inn, she realises that the magician is unhappy. The other children are amazed by the magic tricks but are too scared of Desmond to go near him. Although she knows not to talk to strangers, Skye plucks up the courage to begin talking to Desmond, who at first tries to ignore her, but then teaches her a simple trick in an attempt to satisfy her: making a handkerchief vanish up his sleeve.
