Diversity test shot

Completed in after effects, with cut out black forms, and water colour texture to create a stop motion look, I used the puppet tool to animate the forms, and played around with opacity, to get the flickering look.

 Trying to come up with a story idea inspired by my own relationship with nature.

Shoebox Garden

A young woman moves from the countryside to the city instead of conforming to the city lifestyle she brings
her own twist of nature and her eccentricity changing the perceptions of the neighbours living around her
and bringing joy into their lives.

a young woman living in the countryside on the farm, around the age of 18 gets an offer for a job in the city.

When she moves the city, she finds it very fast paced and daunting with its gloomy bland appearance avoid
of personality, with a new job she finds it to be mundane and boring, sat at a desk all day long, she tries her
best to conform to a new life in the city but she finds that she misses the countryside too much.

One day she comes across a plant shop which is like a ray of sunshine in her bleak existence she then jumps
at the opportunity to buy all the plants she can get her hands-on, she carries them up all the stairs to her
skyhigh flat filling her flat with hundreds of plants, she then also buys a rabbit and a chicken as companions.

With the plants growing out of control and attracting wildlife from all around the city with wild birds finding
her flat is a great new home, the uppity neighbours are concerned and some angry with the noise of all the
animals in the flat they bang on the walls shouting shut up. They find the animals like pests getting free from
the girls flat and wondering the halls and wrecking havoc.

She decides that she needs to introduce herself properly to a neighbours so she invites them to her flat for
tea, where the situation starts off rather awkward and then escalates to being quite comical with them getting
to know the animals and having to navigate the many wilderness, but our taken away with all the nature
inside

The word soon spreads and people are lining up to have a look in her flat and experience the colourful bit
of nature hidden away up in the sky in a shoebox flat, she finds that she doesn’t need her boring job any
more as she opens for business. The neighbours come to accept her eccentric ways and the nature that has
followed her, and even embrace it by putting their own bits of colour in their own balconies proud of their
new buildings status, humbling the neighbours but also bringing new joy into their lives.
